About me...
My name is Jessie Jenson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in the state of WI and a Clinical Psychology PhD. student specializing in Neuropsychology. I have been working as a counselor for 9 years and have had the opportunity to work with thousands of individuals and families helping them overcome struggles such as anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, procrastination, and much more! In addition to the individual mental health counseling, I am often a guest speaker/trainer for different organizations. Talking to an audience allows me the opportunity to reach more people than I would be able to see in my office on a one to one basis. I am very passionate about sharing information and tips on how to live a healthy and happy life so speaking to groups is always an amazing opportunity for me.
Self-Care and Leadership
Assuming a leadership role in any capacity can be very rewarding! Unfortunately, many professionals in leadership roles are burnt out, stressed, overwhelmed, and overworked. Self-care for these individuals is also often lacking for fear that this will be looked at as a waste of time, selfish, or unimportant which only exasperates the many struggles leaders often experience.
However, in order to be a successful leader, you must first be the leader in your own life. Self-care is how you do this. Challenging the myths around self-care can be challenging for individuals who are used to taking care of others, but that is where we come in!
My husband Aaron has been working in professional leadership roles for the past 12 year as a Parks and Recreation Director, Athletic Director, and now City Administrator. Combined with my expertise on Mental Health we offer a laid-back, interactive, and informative seminar that teaches you how to challenge the myths of self-care and implement a self-care routine into your daily life so you can become the most successful leader possible!
